Essential Qualifications
- Professional Degree in Law from a recognized University.
- Minimum 5 years experience as an Advocate.
Desirable Qualification:
Knowledge of customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.
Age Limit
Between 18 to 45 years (as on 01-01-2026)
- 5 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/WFF/PWD of H.P.
- Age relaxation for HP Govt. Employees & Ex-Servicemen as per Govt. rules.

Stage 1:
- Objective Type Screening Test (100 Marks)
- Descriptive Subject Aptitude Test (120 Marks)
Stage 2:
- Personality Test (30 Marks)
Paper-I (Screening Test Pattern)
- General Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh – 30 Marks
- National & International Affairs – 30 Marks
- Hindi Language – 20 Marks
- English Language – 20 Marks
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deduction for each wrong answer.
Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- General Category – 45% (SAT)
- Reserved Category – 40% (SAT)
