Branches and Eligibility
Executive Branch
- General Service (GS X) / Hydro Cadre: BE/B.Tech in any discipline with 60% marks. Vacancies: 57 (Men and Women)
- Pilot: BE/B.Tech in any discipline with 60% marks + Class X and XII with 60% overall and in English. Vacancies: 24 (Men and Women)
- Naval Air Operations Officer (Observers): Same as Pilot. Vacancies: 20
- Air Traffic Controller (ATC): Same as Pilot. Vacancies: 20
- Logistics: BE/B.Tech or MBA or relevant PG Diploma with First Class. Vacancies: 10
- Naval Armament Inspectorate Cadre (NAIC): BE/B.Tech in specified streams or PG in Electronics/Physics. Vacancies: 20
- Law: Degree in Law with 55% marks. Vacancies: 02
Education Branch
- MSc, BE/B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA in specified subjects with 60% marks. Vacancies: Multiple specialisations (Men and Women) :15
Technical Branch
- Engineering (GS): BE/B.Tech in relevant engineering streams. Vacancies: 36
- Electrical (GS): BE/B.Tech in relevant electrical/electronics streams. Vacancies: 40
- Naval Constructor: BE/B.Tech in Civil/Mechanical/Marine/Naval Architecture etc. Vacancies: 16
Age Limits (Born Between)
Varies by branch (see official notification). Example: GS(X)/Hydro Cadre: 02 Jul 2001 – 01 Jan 2007.
Selection Process
- Shortlisting based on normalised marks in qualifying degree.
- SSB Interview.
- Medical Examination.
- Final Merit List preparation based on SSB performance.
Training and Probation
- Training at INA, Ezhimala.
- Rank: Sub Lieutenant.
- Probation Period: 2–3 years depending on branch.
Pay Scale and Benefits
- Starting gross salary: ~Rs. 1,10,000/- per month.
- Allowances as applicable (e.g., Pilot/NAOO Allowance: Rs. 31,250/-).
- Naval Group Insurance Scheme coverage.
