Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: 10+2 / Intermediate from a recognized board.
- Desirable: Knowledge of Himachali customs/dialects and basic computer skills.
- Age Limit (as on 01-01-2025): 18–45 years (Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/ExSM as per rules).
Selection Process
- Computer Based Test / Written Screening Test – 120 marks.
- Document Verification for shortlisted candidates.
- Final merit list prepared as per rules & normalization (if applicable).

1. 10+2 Level Subjects (85 Questions)
- Mathematics: Number System, Percentages, Ratio-Proportion, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Mensuration, Algebra basics.
- General Science: Basic Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Daily-life based).
- Social Science: Geography, History, Civics.
- Computer Awareness: MS Office, Internet basics, hardware/software fundamentals.
- Economics & Environment: Basic concepts and current relevance.
- English & Hindi: Grammar, comprehension and fundamentals.
2. GK + Reasoning + Languages (35 Questions)
- Indian GK: Polity, Geography, Economy, major events.
- Himachal Pradesh GK: History, culture, rivers, districts, Panchayati Raj, state news.
- Current Affairs: National, International, Government schemes.
- Reasoning: Series, Analogy, Classification, Directions, Coding-Decoding.
- Everyday Science: Daily-life science & environment basics.
- English & Hindi (Matric level): Grammar, vocabulary, comprehension.

Normalization of Scores (Z-Score Method)
If the exam is conducted in multiple shifts, marks will be normalized using the Z-Score method to ensure fairness.

Normalization Scheduling Rules
- Same subject appears in all shifts.
- Equal distribution of nodes (computers).
- Candidates scheduled according to their selected exam city.
- Category-wise balanced allocation.
- PH/PwD and female candidates may get priority in their first preference city.
Admit Card & Document Verification
Admit card will not be sent by post. Download from: https://hprca.hp.gov.in
Bring original documents and self-attested copies during verification.
Vacancy Changes & Preference Rules
The number of posts is tentative and may increase or decrease. Any new posts with similar R&P Rules may be added until 30.04.2026 or the date of the exam, whichever is earlier.
During document verification, candidates must give their district/department preference. Allocation will be based on the formula: Merit-Cum-Option-Cum-Availability of Post.
Reserved category candidates may opt to be considered in their own category instead of MRC if it gives them a better option.
