Naib Subedar Pragat Singh, 31, was martyred while on duty in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, making the ultimate sacrifice for the nation. He was from Ramdass in Amritsar district, Punjab, and served with 19 Rashtriya Rifles, a unit actively involved in counter-terrorism operations.
He joined the Indian Army on December 23, 2015, and served with courage, dedication, and professionalism throughout his career.
The martyr’s body is expected to reach his native village by evening. Preparations are being made to honor him with full military honours. His last rites will be held tomorrow, with family, local residents, and Army representatives in attendance.
Naib Subedar Pragat Singh is survived by his elderly parents, his wife, and two young children. His martyrdom has brought deep sorrow to his village, where people remember him as a disciplined soldier and a devoted family man. The Indian Army and the nation salute his bravery and sacrifice. His courage and selfless service will always be an inspiration. The Army stands with his family in this time of great loss.
