What is TGC (Technical Graduate Course)?
The Technical Graduate Course (TGC) is a special entry scheme for engineering graduates who aspire to become Commissioned Officers in the Indian Army’s technical branches. Candidates undergo 12 months of training at IMA Dehradun and are granted a Permanent Commission upon completion.

TGC 143 Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen, subject of Nepal, or a person of Indian origin with intent of permanent settlement in India.
- Age Limit: 20 to 27 years (born between 01 July 1999 and 30 June 2006, both inclusive).
- Educational Qualification: Final year or completed B.E./B.Tech in relevant engineering discipline. Candidates must submit proof of passing by 01 July 2026.
TGC 143 Selection Process
- Shortlisting of applications based on cutoff percentage (per engineering stream).
- SSB Interview Centres: Prayagraj, Bhopal, Bengaluru, Jalandhar.
- Two-stage SSB Process: Stage 1 (Screening), Stage 2 (Psychology, GTO & Interview).
- Medical Examination.
- Final Merit List based on SSB marks and tie-breaker (age > degree %).

Training Location: Indian Military Academy (IMA), Dehradun.
Commission Type: Permanent Commission as Lieutenant.
Ante-date Seniority: One year for pay and promotion benefits.
