Educational Qualification / Eligibility

Candidates applying for the post of Deputy Director Sainik Welfare should fulfil the prescribed eligibility conditions given below:

Essential Qualification:

The candidate should be a retired/released Ex-Indian Army Commissioned Officer of the rank of Colonel, Lt. Colonel, Major or Captain, or equivalent status in the Indian Navy/Air Force.


Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of the customs, manners and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment under the peculiar conditions prevailing in the State.


Age Limit

The candidate should be below 57 years of age. The age of the candidate shall be reckoned as on 01 January 2026.

Candidates should carefully enter their date of birth in the application form. The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate or equivalent certificate will be accepted by the Commission.

Age Relaxation: Five years relaxation in the upper age limit is admissible to Bonafide SC of Himachal Pradesh, ST of Himachal Pradesh, OBC of Himachal Pradesh, WFF of Himachal Pradesh and Persons with Disabilities of Himachal Pradesh, subject to the prescribed conditions and availability of reserved posts.

For H.P. Government employees and Ex-Servicemen of Himachal Pradesh, age relaxation will be applicable as per Government instructions issued from time to time and the detailed provisions mentioned under the prescribed Age Limits.

Emoluments / Pay

Selected candidates appointed as Job Trainee for the post of Deputy Director Sainik Welfare will receive:

₹32,500/- Per Month

The recruitment and engagement under this advertisement shall be governed by the scheme for engagement of Job Trainees on a fixed amount in State Government departments, issued by the Department of Personnel vide notification dated 19 July 2025, along with subsequent orders/guidelines issued in this regard.

HPPSC Exam Pattern 2026

Paper-I: Screening Test

Paper-I will be a Computer Based Test (CBT) or Offline Screening Test of 1 hour duration, consisting of objective type Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The paper will carry 100 marks and will include negative marking for incorrect/wrong answers.

Paper-II: Subject Aptitude Test (SAT)

Paper-II will be a Descriptive Subject Aptitude Test (SAT) of 3 hours duration carrying 120 marks. The syllabus for the Subject Aptitude Test will be decided by the Commission from time to time.

The Commission reserves the right to change the examination centre(s) at its discretion. Every effort will be made to allot the centre selected by the candidate, but a different centre may be allotted whenever circumstances warrant.

In case of CBT examination, the centre may be allotted anywhere in Himachal Pradesh depending on the availability of computer test laboratories.
