Animal Husbandry Department Kangra has officially released a recruitment notification for 122 Multi Task Worker (Pashu Mitra) posts for the year 2026. Vacancy Details
The 122 Pashu Mitra posts are distributed across different Veterinary Institutions of Kangra District including Palampur, Nagrota Bagwan, Jawalamukhi, Nurpur, Fatehpur, Dehra, Kangra, and many more areas.
Each Veterinary Hospital / Dispensary has been allotted 1 to 4 posts depending on the requirement.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be a Bonafide resident of Himachal Pradesh.
- Candidate should belong to the local or neighboring Gram Panchayat / Urban Local Body of the concerned Veterinary Institution.
- Applicant must be physically fit, mentally sound and of good character.
- Minimum Qualification: 10th pass from any recognized school in Himachal Pradesh (Bonafide Himachalis are exempted).
- Desirable: Knowledge of animal husbandry work, livestock care, and local customs.
Age Limit (as on 05-02-2026)
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: 45 Years
Salary Details
Selected candidates will receive a fixed honorarium of Rs. 5,000 per month. The engagement is purely on a part-time basis (4 hours per day) and does not give any right for regular government employment.

Selection Process
The selection will be done in two stages:
Stage-I: Physical Test
The candidate must carry a 25 kg weight for 100 meters within 1 minute.
Stage-II: Merit List & Counselling
A merit list will be prepared based on:
- 10th Class Marks – 85 Marks
- Animal Husbandry Experience – up to 4.5 Marks
- Local Resident – 1 Mark
- SC/ST/OBC – 1 Mark
- BPL/EWS – 1.5 Marks
- Widow/Single Woman/Divorced – 1.5 Marks
- Single Daughter/Orphan – 1 Mark
- Landless Family – 2 Marks
- Non-Employment Certificate – 1.5 Marks
- NCC/NSS/Scouts/Sports – 1 Mark

- Fill it carefully in blue or black pen.
- Attach self-attested copies of required documents.
- Add two self-addressed envelopes.
- Submit to the Senior Veterinary Officer of your Sub-Divisional Veterinary Hospital.
- Ensure it reaches before 05 February 2026, 4:00 PM.
